Overview of RARE 2023 meetings

November 2, 2023 | News

Rencontres RARE is a central event for the rare disease community,
bringing together doctors, scientists, patients, public decision-makers, healthcare professionals
and companies. This biennial congress focuses on research and explores the
patient pathway, with this year's themes: "From territory to Europe" and "The
care-research link". In France, 3 million people are affected by rare diseases,
95% without curative treatment. The National Plans for Rare Diseases are crucial, but
challenges remain, such as screening, genetics, research funding,
access to innovative therapies, data collection, and public-private partnerships.
Rare diseases are emerging as a key driver of innovation, putting patients at
the heart of debates and partnerships.
