The Kiwanis Club of the West Var and the association Les Blouses Roses handed over a check of 4 000 euros for the benefit of the Foundation Maladies Rares and research. The occasion to thank also all the shopkeepers and therapists who participated in the collection of donations via the red coin operation and the sale of chocolate.
Since March, small metal boxes and bars of chocolates were present in the shops of Toulon but also in Six-Fours, Sanary, Bandol, Ollioules and La Seyne. Four Kiwanis Clubs of the West Var, the Kiwanis Club Bay of Sanary-Bandol-Ollioules (BSBO), the Kiwanis Club Bandol-Sanary-Sud Sainte Baume (BSSSB), the Kiwanis Club La Seyne Six Fours Saint Mandrier (SSS) and the Kiwanis Club Toulon Doyen joined together for thered coins operation, in partnership with the association Blouses Roses*, Toulon Committee, in order to collect funds for Rare Diseases.
A total of 4,000 euros of donations will be dedicated "to research, particularly for pediatric diagnosis of new rare diseases and research into innovative gene therapies," says Roseline Favresse, regional manager for the South East of the Rare Diseases Foundation.
