June 18, World Sickle Cell Day 2021

June 14, 2021 | News

The Foundation will take part in the World Sickle Cell Day on June 18 with a presentation by Prof. Daniel Scherman, Director of the Foundation, and Prof. Sébastien Ruffié, winner of the Foundation's award for his work on "Sickle Cell Disease, Neuro-Cognitive Disorders and Social Participation - SOCIODREP".

The aim of this event is to inform and raise awareness among the general public and to raise funds to support families, sickle cell patients and research. World Sickle Cell Day is a special opportunity to highlight sickle cell disease: a rare hereditary disease, still poorly known, although very common in the Caribbean and recognized since 2008 as a public health priority by the United Nations (UN).
