November 30, 2018 | Past News

32 funding organizations and agencies (including the Rare Disease Foundation), together with the European Commission, intend to open the first joint transnational call under the Rare Diseases EJP (JTC 2019) for funding multilateral research projects on rare diseases.

The call should be opened simultaneously by all funding organizations in their respective countries/regions.

The 2019 call for projects will focus on "transnational research projects to accelerate diagnosis and/or explore disease progression and mechanisms of rare diseases."

The content and procedures of the call for projects described in the pre-announcement (available here) are subject to change and are not legally binding on the funding agencies.

The objective of the call is to enable scientists from different countries to establish an effective collaboration in a common interdisciplinary research project based on complementarity and sharing of expertise, with a clear benefit for patients.
