For nearly ten years, the International Order of Anisetiers has been a key partner of the Rare Diseases Foundation. Heir to an ancient guild of doctors and apothecaries who used their knowledge of the properties of anise to help the sick, the Order is now structured as a "service club" committed to numerous causes, particularly those related to health and childhood. Through its values of solidarity, fraternity, and civic engagement, it fully echoes the mission of our Foundation: to raise awareness of rare diseases and advance research that brings hope to patients and their families.
Since 2015, all of the Commanderies, spread across France, have stepped up their solidarity initiatives to benefit the Foundation. Magisterial chapters, conferences on rare diseases, local charity events, fundraising dinners and parties: these are all convivial occasions that bring people together, inform them and raise awareness of the cause of rare diseases, far beyond medical and scientific circles alone.
This commitment has translated into regular and growing financial support, with nearly €80,000 raised in total since the start of this partnership. These funds have been used to support research projects led by teams throughout France, as well as to promote awareness, visibility, and mobilization around rare diseases. In concrete terms, behind every check presented at a lecture, scientific programs are being developed, young researchers are being encouraged, and patients are seeing new opportunities open up.
The Rare Diseases Foundation would like to express its deep gratitude to all the Maistres Anysetiers, Chancellors, and Grand Maistres of the Commanderies, as well as the many volunteers in each region who work tirelessly to keep this partnership alive year after year. Their loyalty, their renewed trust, and the importance they give to rare diseases in their events demonstrate a commitment that goes far beyond financial sponsorship: it is a true partnership, both human and demanding, in the service of a common goal.
We would like to express our immense gratitude to all the Commanderies that support us, to the Anysetiers who take the time to organize events, invite experts, relay our messages, and raise awareness about rare diseases in their communities. Thanks to you, our fight has strong local roots, carried forward by women and men who have made a concrete choice to "help and give hope ."
