Announcement of the Winners of the ASL-HSP 2024 Call for Projects

We are delighted to share the results of the ASL-HSP 2024 Call for Projects, a collaborative initiative to support research into hereditary spastic paraplegia. Two projects have been selected for their potential to advance the understanding and treatment of this rare genetic disease.

The Winners and Their Projects :

  1. Juan Navarro (Spain)
    • Project: Pharmacological screening in Drosophila and cellular models of Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia 7.
  2. Coralie Fassier (Paris, France)
    • Project: Prevention of axonal degeneration caused by spastin haploinsufficiency by TTLL11-mediated tubulin polyglutamylation in human SPG4 neurons and a mouse model.

These projects were selected for their clinical relevance and their potential impact on patients' quality of life. The total investment of 50,000 euros testifies to the sustained commitment of theASL-HSP association and the Fondation Maladies Rares to medical research and the well-being of patients with hereditary spastic paraplegia.
