Our community of supportive athletes Move4Rare

February 28, 2026 | News

Born from a meeting between committed runners and the Rare Diseases Foundation, the initiative to bring together our supportive athletes to form a community quickly became important.

Race after race, and with the number of charity sporting events on the rise, more and more athletes have rallied behind this worthy cause through various events, joining forces to support research.

Today, Move4Rare brings together a large community of athletes, including runners who have run at least once for the Foundation, and in some cases more than once, united by the conviction to push themselves every day for this cause that is so dear to us.

Our mission is simple: to bring people together and use sport to promote solidarity.

Through major international events such as the Grand Raid, the Paris Marathon and Half Marathon, and many others, we aim to raise awareness of rare diseases and the reality faced by patients and their families. We want to mobilize athletes of all levels around a humanitarian and scientific cause. We want to support research by promoting the actions and fundraising efforts of the Rare Diseases Foundation. We want to create links between athletes, researchers, associations, and patients.

Move4Rare is based on values that unite and motivate us:

  • Solidarity: striving to excel for others, together.
  • Commitment: getting involved in a cause that goes beyond sport.
  • Surpassing oneself: transforming individual effort into collective victory.
  • Inclusion: a community open to everyone, regardless of skill level or experience.
  • Hope: believing that every action, every effort, can contribute to advancing research.

Move4Rare is much more than just a group of runners: it is a committed community that uses sport to support an essential cause. With every race and every challenge they take on, our athletes contribute to raising awareness of rare diseases, supporting research, and giving a voice to patients and their families.

Driven by strong values, this initiative demonstrates that individual effort can become a collective force capable of bringing about real change. Together, let's keep running, pushing ourselves and turning every kilometer we cover into another step towards a better future alongside the Rare Diseases Foundation.
